The Pan American Games are Coming to Guadalajara in 2011!
To get ready for this amazing event, there were many plans put in place for environmental initiatives to clean lakes, monitor drinking water, and revitalize the downtown.
As a developing city, Guadalajara has a lot to gain in terms of promoting awareness of the city as a tourist or business location.
As one web site says, “Whenever a city hosts a major sporting event, the local economy is injected with a new lease of life. Tourism is one industry which specifically benefits from any sporting event.”
The 16th edition of Pan-American games…the biggest multisport event in Latin America…will be hosted by Guadalajara, Mexico, from October 14 to 30, 2011. More than 5,700 athletes will be competing in Guadalajara in 40 different sports.
The Pan American Village will have 650 apartments, two parking lots and almost 65% of the area will be green areas.
There will be 40 Different Sports. For example:
1. Waterpolo
2. Fencing
3. Basketball
4. Bowling
5. Canoeing
6. Cycling
7. Rugby
8. Rowing
9. Volleyball
10. Softball
2. Fencing
3. Basketball
4. Bowling
5. Canoeing
6. Cycling
7. Rugby
8. Rowing

ResponderExcluirI like sports a lot. The kind of sports that I most adore is volleyball.I forgot the name of this different sport. Football?I am not sure.Oh gosh, I cannot imagine myself playing this kind of sport!I am not so strong sufficient!
ResponderExcluirIn my opinion the government is giving more attention to sports if we do a comparison with the past governments.
If I could do some adaptation in the Olympic matches in 2016, I would put the matches in our city. Belem!Kisses! STEPHANIE GEORGIA
Hello Everybody!!! I really like sports, my favorite is work out, but unfortunately I do not have time now..The sport in that picture..I really do not Know..So, I was watching the Pan American Games, and I could see that the Brazil Was better, but we have to improve our performance, and we have to be aware with the responsabilty to represent our Country... Most of the players do not have this behaviour...

I really enjoy sports, team sports are my favorite but now I'm retired cause of two injuries, the first in my left shoulder and the second in my left foot.Actually rugby is a good sport but now well-known here in Brazil,it's a team sport too.I don't like canoeing,it's too boring. The iniciative here is good for some sports like soccer and volleyball but the rest is a little forgotten so it's not enough. The biggest and most important adaptation could be done at the transports area.

ResponderExcluirI really liked the text because I am a fan of sports. I like to play volleyball. I don't like to play basketbal because I think it is difficult to throw the ball in the basket. But talking about the incentive the government gives to sports in Brazil, I think it is similar to the incentive for education; almost nothing!! In Brazil, many adaptations need to be done to the Olympics in 2016 (structural, educational, etc).
P.S.: I don't know what is the sport of the picture.
I don't like sports very much. But if I did, I would like these ones which aren't necessary so much motion. I guess we don't have rugby here in Brazil, and according to wikipedia, it is a very very strange game. All the sports in the Pan American Games are too violent to me, but cycling (maybe). By the way, if I don't like sports att all, problably it's because I haven't received so many incentives from Government when I was younger. However, I wish we had these Games in my city.
ResponderExcluirGood subject, and yes I really like sports, but I'm a little bit lazy to practice them, so i prefer just to watch, I like all the kind of sports, but in my opinion the nicest sport is volleyball 'cuz there's a lot of action in it, besides being beautiful, by the way, I don't know which sport it is above, and I can't imagine how to practice either, i like all of sports, they're nice to be healthy, in Brazil there's no incentive and I don't know how to explain I need to read a little more 'cuz it involves politic but in fact there are a lot of things to be thought and studied.

I like sports because we can stay in shape by practicing them. The one that I like most is swimming, but I have not been practicing it anymore. That is why I am such a lazy man nowadays. Rugby seems to be very interesting, and it is so popular in England. I would like to try this sport one day. I do not like fencing because I am not able to fight with swords.
ResponderExcluirI do not know exactly how much the government gives to sports in my country, but I think it is more than for education. For the Olympics in 2016, if I could do something to get ready to this mega event, I would invest in free language courses to prepare Brazilian people in order to deal with people from different countries.
